Agüimes Lanza Una Campaña De Adopción De Mascotas

La Concejalía de Medio Ambiente del Ayuntamiento de Agüimes y el Albergue Municipal de Animales, con motivo de la llegada del verano, y tras el éxito de anteriores convocatorias, organizan una nueva jornada de adopción de mascotas a través del perfil de Facebook del Programa de Tenencia Responsable de Mascotas Villa de Agüimes.
Esta plataforma, que se erige como una iniciativa puesta en marcha el pasado mes de febrero para concienciar a la ciudadanía de la importancia de actuar con respeto y civismo con los animales de compañía, sirve también para dar a conocer los perros y gatos que están en adopción en el Albergue Municipal de Animales, así como para contactar con los responsables del proyecto para formalizar los trámites de adopción.
El Albergue Municipal de Animales, que ha sido sometido recientemente a una gran restauración, desarrolla asimismo una importante labor de identificación y rescate de animales víctimas de maltrato y abandono, que reciben asistencia veterinaria, y promueve las acciones legales correspondientes contra los autores-as de estos delitos.
Una ayuda fundamental en esta acción es el programa de Casas Nidos, un recurso temporal de acogida para aquellos casos que requieren de una atención especial al tratarse de cachorros y animales mayores o convalecientes que necesitan de acompañamiento para superar sus miedos y temores.
Las personas interesadas en adoptar una mascota pueden, además de recibir información en la página de Facebook, descargar la ficha disponible en www.aguimes.es, en la que se detallan todos los requisitos necesarios para formalizar la adopción.

Systemic Lidocaine Decreased the Perioperative Opioid Analgesic Requirements but Failed to Reduce Discharge Time After Ambulatory Surgery

Perioperative systemic lidocaine significantly reduces opioid requirements in the ambulatory setting without affecting time to discharge. Postoperative pain is the most common reason for delay in discharge and unplanned hospital admission after ambulatory surgery. 1–3 Because postoperative pain is to a large extent an inflammatory phenomenon, administration of systemic local anesthetics, which have inflammatory modulatory properties, 4 could significantly reduce pain and therefore allow more rapid discharge. 5 Lidocaine has an excellent safety record when administered by low-dose infusion. 5–7 However, whereas decreased hospital stay after inpatient surgery has been demonstrated, the effect of intraoperative and early postoperative lidocaine infusion on duration of stay after ambulatory surgery is not known.
