Jon Jones Está Dispuesto A Alejarse De La Competición Durante Años Hasta Que El UFC Haga Cambios Respecto Al Pago De Los Peleadores

La situación entre Jon Jones y el Ultimate Fighting Championship no pasa por su mejor momento. Todo empezó debido a lo que aparentemente fueron las fallidas negociaciones para que Jones subiera a la división de peso completo para enfrentar a Francis Ngannou. Al parecer, el UFC consideró que Jones estaba pidiendo mucho dinero, y Jones demostró su descontento dejando vacante el cinturón de peso semicompleto.

Jones recientemente estuvo presente en el programa Wild Ride! de Steve-O, en donde declaró que considera alejarse de la competición de las artes marciales mixtas, hasta que la compañía del Octágono sea más justa respecto al pago que le entrega a sus atletas (vía ESPN):

Jon Jones: "Muchos de los chicos que no están en su mejor momento, ellos no están en posición de decir públicamente. 'Tengo un segundo empleo, le estoy pidiendo dinero prestado a mis padres'. Conozco a muchos peleadores quienes viven en el gimnasio Jackson Wink MMA porque no pueden permitirse ser dueños de su propio apartamento, y son peleadores del UFC. Eso es triste".

"Y si tengo que tener una mala relación con Dana, alejarme durante dos años, tres años, para traer algo de claridad a lo que está sucediendo, entonces esas son cosas por las que la gente te va a recordar más que por ganar cinturones. Apoyo a los peleadores jóvenes".
